ECPGR European Central Crop Databases
(ECCDBs)
A number of European central crop databases have been established through the initiative of individual
institutes and of ECPGR Working Groups. The information on these accessions is centralized into one
database. The databases hold passport data and, to varying degrees, characterization and primary
evaluation data of the major collections of the respective crops in Europe. The germplasm accessions
are maintained in different European institutes for long-term conservation according to international
standards. Safety-duplicates are stored in other genebanks, preferably within another country. To
request material included in the databases, please refer to the donor institutes which maintain the
germplasm accessions.

Bioversity International offers Web access to specific crop and multi-crop databases.
EURISCO catalogue
The EURISCO Web catalogue automatically receives data from the National Inventories (NI). It effectively
provides access to all ex situ PGR information in Europe and thus facilitates locating and accessing
PGR.
EURISCO is hosted at and maintained by Bioversity International on behalf of the Secretariat of the
European Cooperative Programme for Plant Genetic Resources (ECPGR).
