The ECPGR Information and Communication Technology Advisory Group (formerly "Internet Advisory Group") provides database managers in Europe with technical advice for the development of Central Crop Databases (CCDBs) and assists in the preparation of downloadable and on-line searchable databases. Database managers can seek advice directly from the members of the Information and Communication Technology Advisory Group. This assistance is a contribution in kind to ECPGR.

Under the supervision of the Internet Advisory Group, two Training Workshops on "On-line Central Crop Databases" have been held, the first in Bonn, Germany in 1997 and the second in Alnarp, Sweden, in 1998.
