A substantial number of countries have their National PGR Inventories accessible, comprising 50% of PGR accessions in Europe.

The European Inventory contains all available National PGR Inventories, extended with a number of national data sets derived from Central Crop DataBases, and additional 20% of PGR accessions in Europe.

A final meeting has been organised at which the European Inventory

Expected results:

  • Data of over 70% of the European ex situ conserved germplasm will be on-line accessible in a single database. This European Inventory (EURISCO) will provide, together with SINGER (germplasm conserved by the CGIAR) and GRIN (germplasm conserved in the US and Canada), access to most germplasm held ex situ in the world.
  • Many European countries will have their National PGR Inventory established, or in the process of being established
  • Collaboration between European genebanks and the Clearing House Mechanism of the Convention on Biological Diversity will be established. Furthermore, the capacity to manage PGR documentation and information systems will be increased.
