Privacy Notice – the European Cooperative Programme for Plant Genetic Resources (ECPGR)

This privacy notice tells you about the information we collect from you when you agree to share your contact details with the European Cooperative Programme for Plant Genetic Resources (ECPGR).
In collecting this information, we are acting as a data controller and, by law, we are required to provide you with information about us, about why and how we use your data, and about the rights you have over your data.

We are the European Cooperative Programme for Plant Genetic Resources (ECPGR), hosted at the Alliance of Bioversity International and the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT). What personal data do we collect?

The personal data that we collect include: your first name, surname, e-mail, work title and expertise, division, organization, address and phone.  

Why do we collect this information?

The data collected will be used to contact people affiliated with the organizations involved in ECPGR. Your personal data will be used to include you in the mailing lists of the ECPGR bodies in which you take part and contact you for dissemination of information related to ECPGR, as well as if we need to request further clarification regarding the information that you submit to us.

What do we do with your information?

Your contact details, in the form that you have provided us, will be published on the ECPGR website if you belong to any of the ECPGR Working Groups, bodies, Task Forces or mailing lists. 

How long do we keep your information for?

We ask for your consent to do this, and we will only keep your data in our database for as long as you continue to consent.
You can request us at any time to remove it from the database by sending an email to ecpgr(at)cgiar.org

Your rights over your information

By law, you can ask us what information we hold about you, and you can ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate. 

You can also ask for it to be erased and you can ask us to give you a copy of the information.

You can also ask us to stop using your information – the simplest way to do this is to withdraw your consent, which you can do at any time, by emailing or writing to us using the contact details above.

Your right to complain

If you have a complaint about our use of your information, we would prefer you to contact us directly in the first instance so that we can address your complaint.
