For the first time, EURISCO includes data on in situ CWR populations of potential importance for breeding and research.

For the first time, the European Search Catalogue for Plant Genetic Resources (EURISCO) includes data on in situ crop wild relatives (CWR) populations of potential importance for breeding and research.

Thanks to a project funded by the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture and coordinated by ECPGR, an initial set of data from Bulgaria, Cyprus, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain can now be searched on EURISCO. Data from additional pilot countries involved in the project will be soon made available.

The ‘Extension of EURISCO for Crop Wild Relatives in situ data and preparation of pilot countries’ data sets’ project has endowed the European region with a centralized, public and web-searchable inventory of passport data for in situ CWR priority populations that can be made in principle accessible to users.

To know more, visit the project page and search data on EURISCO
